Jeston's 外婆 day

Jeston woke up quite early this morning.  As usual, he will be glued to the TV watching his favourite Mickey DVD with special edition on Little Einsteins.  After I woke up, i helped him shower and dressed him for his music class later.  Daddy made egg omelette with cheese and i sandwiched this between 2 slices of Jeston's favourite pandan bread.

While he was enjoying his breakfast, i quickly went for my shower and we left for his music class.  We were 5mins early but another of his classmates, a little girl, A was already there with his daddy.  Had a chat with his daddy.  They are currently staying @ Serangoon.  They used to live at Fernvale but sold their 5 room flat last year at around S$450K and shifted to a 4 room in Serangoon which was similar size to the 5 room.  They are going to shift again next year to Toa Payoh as he wanted his daughter to enrol in CHIJ Toa Payoh where his new house will be 1km away from the school.  He told me CHIJ Toa Payoh is affiliated to secondary schools hence easier route for her.  His daughter is 1 year younger than Jeston.

James alwis commented that I'm a kiasu mummy.  But there are much more diligent parents out there.  I really admired daddies who will spend efforts on planning the futures of their kids.  James juz leave everything to me.  I heard that kiasuparents website has more daddies members than mummies.  If we can afford, i rather be a SAHM for the first 12 years in Jeston's life.  There's so much things to do at home to establish his foundation for the future years.  Wanted to enrol him in Shichida method but it's too exp and require lotsa time commitment.

I had enrolled Jeston in Little Neutro Tree @ its Hougang branch for one year for the whole from Feb 2009 to Jan 2010.  It offered very interesting programme for toddlers where they teach English, Mandarin and Japanese on one language on weekly basis in innovative ways.  But the time is quite restricted as they tried to squeeze many things in an hour.  We decided to try other programmes.  After which, we enrolled him in 2 terms of my gym @ Tampines.  He loved it.  It's an hour of class and another hour of free play in the gym.  But they increased the fees so we stopped after 2 terms around August this year.  Hence, he's only attending music @ Seimpi and chinese classes @ Berries

But recently, he had been quite cranky during his music classes.  Today, we learnt about happy (Major) music and sad (minor) music in class.  After that, Teacher Fiona distributed 2 worksheets for the kids to draw with respective notes following face of a pooh bear.  He was still behaving alright for this activity.  But for the next activity where he need to draw the no. of pigs related to the note, he lost interest and started scribbling all over the worksheet while Teacher Fiona focused on teaching the other student, A.  Thereafter, another student, M, joined us.  My gosh! My little darling refused to carry on and lied on the floor.

Next, they were supposed to arrange some cards and Jeston juz refused to do it though he had tried this game previously and did a great job.  They then practised teh song "When a child is born" for the year end Christmas concert and Jeston was supposed to play note "F" using the desk bell.  He kept pressing the bells before the music begins.  He managed to settle down eventually and was told to place the desk bell on the floor.

His usual keyboard practice was a nightmare too as he kept pressing other buttons on the keyboard and refused to practise the song we were assigned.  Teacher Fiona approached each student one after another.  When she came to us, she advised me to stop the music lessons for Jeston after they finished the red book in Jan 2011 as she feel that he's not ready and it will be tougher when we proceed to the blue book stage.  She cited cases where students stopped for a while and returned and achieved better performance thereafter.  Told her i will consider about it.

After the music class, we headed home for lunch.  Daddy fry the fish for Jeston while we ate the roasted duck which he bot from the hawker.  I was attacked by the flu virus hence felt very lethargic.  Took a nap together with Jeston.  He woke up a little later than me.  We then headed to his 外婆's house.  It was quite foggy outside.  Upon reaching, daddy went to get his dinner but being affected by the humid weather, he ate fruits for dinner.  Good job, daddy!  Keep it up!  Hope he will continue his healthy diet.  I ate my mum's home cooked food and love the tang kui soup she boiled.
Foggy weather
My mum fed Jeston rice with fried salmon, his favourite fish which he finished every bit of it.  We were watching "Ai"....long winded taiwanese drama on air every day in the evening on channel 8.  One of the leading male actor was dressed in Mickey so Jeston got excited about it.  After his shower, we left my mum's place and proceeded to fetch my MIL and SIL after their chanting session.  When we reached our place, Jeston insisted on staying at his ah ma's place.  He kept crying when i tried to carry him home.

My MIL and SIL gotta follow us to our place and left while he was drinking his milk.  He cried when he couldn't find them after his milk.  Mummy gotta coaxed him and got him to sleep.  What a day!
