Mid week

This morning, we went to fetch Jeston from my MIL's place.  He clung on tightly to my MIL's hand and only reluctantly let go after we told him it was time for school.  He's very close to his ah ma.  Today, Lu Lao Shi opened the door for us.  Another of his classmates, J took the same lift as us.  But at the door, he hugged tightly to his mum and wept and refused to enter the school.  Not sure what happen after that as i went off after entrusting Jeston with Lu Lao Shi.

As usual, very packed mrt without any seat for me.  I reached office and made a cup of old white town kopi before rushing my work for the deadline tomorrow again.  Another busy day to go.  So much things to do and deadline being forward for one day.  Sighz.......I'm not a ROBOT leh.....

Went lunch with my colls, Jo & A to Hans.  We wanted to go Tanjong Pagar hawker but as it was very cloudy, we switched venue.  There was already a long queue.  We got a table and joined the queue.  Jo ordered fish fillet set, A ordered Chicken chop with mushroom set and I ordered Spaghetti with sausage set.  The set was served with soup of the day (potato soup), main course, garlic bread, small serving of watermelon and canned peach pieces and beverage.  I ordered kopi but was served tehsi instead.  Couldn't bother to change so juz continued with my tehsi.

After lunch was another mad rush as i had so much to do.  But was very disappointed with someone today.  All my efforts being done for my work and she only helped a bit and she claimed all the credit.  Getting very demotivated....it seems like people who can curry favor do not have to put in much efforts.  They juz seem to use their mouth 90% and only put in 10% effort.  Worst thing, they acted differently in front of you and in front of the boss.  Anyway, lesson learnt.  It warned me to be more wary and cautious of this person.  

After work, i rushed to Berries and waited for Jeston to arrive.  He was late for class again.  He clung on tightly to me and kept saying "Mummy, don't run away".  Given no choice, i sat through the entire class with him.  He kept worrying i would leave and tears kept rolling down his cheeks.  He enjoyed the class but lack the confidence to attend the class alone without mummy around.  I'm at a loss of how to remove this phobia in him.  The Chinese class is beneficial for him as he recognizes many words.  Today's lesson was on 吃  and 喝.  They were given bread with butter and little bit of milo to drink.  The teachers were very nice and offered me a piece of the bread.  I did not have my dinner yet.

Jeston missed the class last week as he was suspected to have chicken pox.  I produced the MC to the counter and would be issued a credit voucher for next term.  I decided to let Jeston carry on the classes as i find that the teachers were very good and he learnt quite a lot.  But still cracking my brains over how to diminish the phobia in him.  After the class, daddy fetched us home.  I had Koka instant cup noodle for dinner as it juz required 3mins to cook the noodles without msg.  Though quite plain as James did not put in the entire sachet of seasoning in it, i finished the entire bowl as i was famished.

I then coaxed Jeston to bed after he finished watching Little Einsteins on ipad again.  Gotta force him to switch it off and then i revised the chinese characters he had learnt so far in Berries as he was given mini flashcards with every new chinese character learnt in every class.  These were very handy and useful so i juz flashed to him almost every night if he is not tired.  But he slept shortly after cos guess he was exhausted.  Saw a form for holiday programme to be conducted by his preschool for 3 weeks.  Still considering whether i should sign him up or juz let him enjoy the long year end break.  It's not cheap.  Shall see about it.

James bought these nectarines from NTUC on Tues for offering to Guan Yin today as it is Guan Yin Dan.  The entire box of nectarines were spolit today.

Busy day

It had been 2 days since I last blogged. Had been sick. Went to Olive Tree again on Sunday evening cos I had stomach flu. Been having diarrhea and vomited after taking simple porridge. Nevertheless, I felt much better today and hence back at work.

 

I went lunch with my colls, Jo and A to Maxwell hawker. I had teo chew porridge with sweet potato, minced meat, egg with shrimps and bean sprouts. After that, we headed to a cafe at a red building for tea and gossip....haha

Got a big surprise today. My coll, S who just joined us in July this year has tendered and would be leaving end of the year. Was shocked when our MD sent out the email. Anyway, heard she has found a job so I wished her all the best.

My client emailed to bring forward deadlines for our quarterlies.....so much things to rush. Stayed till 7 plus to clear my work. Wanted to stay later but as I got errands to run so gave up. Anyway, already diminishing return so guess it would be more productive to continue the next day since I just recovered.

Oh yeah, dunno what happen Dhoby Gaut north south line mrt was very crowded this morning. Luckily, I managed to squeeze myself into the train. But the train was extremely packed. No wonder my SMRT shares losing money. Must get rid of these when the time is ripe.

I went to kopitiam near my place to tabao dinner. Was chatting with my mum at the same time. The idiotic lady charged me $1.50 for a miserable pc of pork shop and the receipt indicated seafood. Went to check with her and she replied it was the price of the pork chop. Imagine I still gotta forked out $3.50 for a pack of rice with sze chuan vege, egg omelette and pork chop after using the kopitiam discount card. Was so pissed. Gonna boycott that store man.

Diligently took my shower and shampooed my hair then continued to makan my dinner. Was patiently waiting for daddy to bring Jeston back after his class. Daddy called and gave me disappointing reply. Jeston wanna stay at ah ma's place again. He dun wanna return home and daddy couldn't persuade him home.

James got a cut on his leg when he passed by my neighbour's place in the evening.  They were renovating their toilet, complimentary from HDB.  We were the first batch of BTO flats with aircraft like toilets without tiles.  It was a failure as there were so much emptiness below the platform and many complained hence HDB outsourced to contractors to revamp the toilets hence my neighbour's toilets were in the midst.  We are still on the long waiting list for next year.  Neway, the contractors were very inconsiderate and left the wires, tiles, etc along the corridor, making it so inconvenient for the rest of us.  James got a cut from the wires left along the corridor.

Restless Saturday....

Woke up almost around 11am today. Daddy had been playing and watching DVD with Jeston. He even helped Jeston to shower and shampoo for the first time as he had never helped Jeston to shampoo since the day he was born.

SHHK was having orientation for new members @ 2.30pm today. I had registered my attendance and wanted so much to attend. But my head was very heavy hence James went to get lunch for all of us.  Jeston had fish slice mee sua and I had fish slice thick bee hoon but I only managed to consume a small serving and headed for the bed again.

Jeston also had his nap and we woke up in the evening to go to my mum's place. Before heading to the carpark, we passed by our neighbour's flat. They were undergoing toilet renovation to convert the current platform into tiles. The contractor had completed the master toilet bedroom. It was quite nicely done. They had one more toilet in the living room to go. It was very dusty all round.

We had called HDB but was told to wait till next year for our turn. Most of our neighbours had called and I guess there were many on the waiting list. My neighbour also kindly offered to show us the toilet in the living room once it had been done. This usually last for 1 mth.

Reached my mum's place at around 7pm. She fed Jeston porridge with fried salmon while I juz had porridge with preserved cai sim. Simple yet tasty for a patient like me. Daddy had his dinner and sent my mum to her monthly meeting somewhere near her place.

Jeston was watching iPad and my dad and I were watching "Ai". After Jsmes returned, he gave Jeston shower and we headed to geylang to pick up my MIL and SIL. Jeston wanna followed ah ma home so here I am blogging while James enjoying his TV show.

Time for bed....gotta get more rest before a busy week again....

Lost battle

Went to the doc with Jeston to Olive Tree this morning. James got no. 33 & 34 for us on our way to my MIL's place to pick up Jeston. When we reached Olive Tree, it was pouring. We took umbrellas and my MIL carried Jeston and dropped him outside the clinic.

We waited for 2 more and I helped Jeston fix the Lego police car for him to play. It was finally our turn. Dr Woon checked Jeston thoroughly and confirmed he had no chicken pox. He then wrote a memo for his school to confirm he's fit for school.

Next, it was my turn. Told doc I had cold, backaches and bad cough. He advised me to continue my cough mixture he gave me on mon. He also prescribed a muscle relaxer and another medicine to relieve pain.

After the doc, Jeston wanted to eat the Chee Cheong Fun at the coffeeshop next door. He still remembered I bot him there previously. But to his dismay, Chee Cheong Fun was sold out and all buns were sold out too. I then bot a pc of Chinese kway for him. Bot him to the grocery shop to get a bot of mineral water and back to the coffeeshop where he consumed another half of cheese pancake which I shared with him.

Daddy finally arrived after my MIL's grocery shopping. We then sent Jeston & my MIL to her place while I headed home to rest. Had little bit fish porridge and slept for 6 hours before proceeding to my MIL's place for dinner. Realised I had stomach flu after leaving the clinic when I started to have diarrhea. Wondered whether I caught the virus at the clinic. I consumed Lacteol Fort, a medicine i was prescribed for diarrhea previously which was very effective.

Din really have appetite hence have a small serving of brown rice with fish and vege. As usual, we gotta trick him to get into daddy's car. He cried all the way home. We told him we would bring him to ah ma's place tomorrow. He kept shaking his head and asked daddy to reroute to ah ma's place.

After reaching home, daddy helped him change and we had an early night as mummy was very tired and sleepy.

Hazy Thursday

This morning, James dropped me at the mrt and drove Jeston to my MIL's place. Today was his 2nd day of MC. The haze was still quite bad due to the forest fire @ Sumatra.

Met my ex-coll, AT, for lunch. Went to peep @ Rainbow shop to hunt for bargains as they usually held items for sales occasionally. Got 1 pooh beige pants ($16.90) & 1 Mickey beige pants ($14.90) for Jeston. Both contained adjustable stretch bands at the waistline hence more flexible.

Then received SMS from AT who wanna change venue from LPS to a foodcourt @ Hong Leong Building basement. I got a table and she arrived shortly. We had fish slice bee hoon soup and I blanjah her. She juz returned from few mths backpack to US.

It was our cow pei session as we confided in each other the problems we faced at work. It's good to let it out then bottle it up. My usual listening ears are James ears. That's what a soulmate is for. We chatted for a while over kopi & tea. She's working for a bank.

After the lunch, I started coughing quite badly and had backaches and cold. My coll, Jo, gave me some green leaves and boiled hot water for me to make the green tea. I felt much better after drinking it but cough returned again. Rang James to pick me up. He was at NUH accompanying my FIL's to visit the doc. Was waiting for his call as I felt very cold. Finally, he called at 5pm. I emailed my MD to inform him I was sick and he permissed me to knock off earlier.

Was waiting for James to fetch me. He only arrived 20mins later when I was standing out in the haze waiting for him. Went home and took my porridge which James tabao for me. He went to my MIL's place for dinner and Jeston din come home.

Finally mid week

After we were done, we went to fetch Jeston at my MIL's place. He wasn't ready yet and was putting on his shoes. We then sent him to school and he reluctantly bade goodbye. When I reached office, daddy called me. He was on his way to fetch our lil' darling as the school called him and suspected he had chicken pox as he had a few spots on his body.

Since his field trip to Punggol Park last Fri, he had a bit of rashes on his left arm. We applied Aloa Vera lotion on him. Think he developed the rashes due to the humid weather as he perspired a lot easily. Daddy bot him to Olive Tree to see the doc.

Doc gave 2 days MC and advised him to bring Jeston back on Fri again. He couldn't confirm whether it was chicken pox as I think not all the symptoms appeared. He also prescribed gentridum lotion for him to apply. It costs $15 in all. Daddy then sent him to my MIL's place.

We met my ex-coll, C, for lunch tgt with my coll, CL. Jo was on leave today. Initially arranged to meet @ Hans but CL wanna blanjah us to Honjin as he missed the sushis there. I rushed back office to get Honjin discount card which James' client gave him previously. At least we were entitled to 10% discount. Were so full and rushed back office to continue my recon.

Managed to send out the deliverables today. Phew! Dun have to stay OT again. Managed to buy Sunvic shares which XDD recommended. But it was only $0.49 last Friday. I went in at $0.57 as I failed when I tried $0.535. It went up to $0.60 end of today. Gotta monitor some more.

Though no OT, CL and I were the last poor fellows to leave the office. I asked James to pick me at the mrt and I headed to kopitiam to tabao hokkien mee for my dinner. Din ask my MIL to cook my dinner in case i need to OT again. Bot bread for breakfast too.

My SIL was telling mr Jeston asked her to pretend to be the student and he, the teacher. He reenact the usual Chinese classroom scene at Berries. We were laughing away. Rang Berries earlier to inform them Jeston was sick do he missed the class today. We can get a credit note by producing the MC.
