Mid-Autumn Festival

Woke up earlier this morning even prior to the sounding of the alarm clock to visit the loo and decided not to head back to my bed. Prepared myself before I helped my lil' darling to dress. He was still sound asleep. He woke up on his own today to drink his milk. I was in the kitchen and heard some noise. Thot wat happened and rushed to the bedroom. Jeston couldn't open the cover of the milk bottle.

I helped him to do so thereafter applied the rashes cream and helped him to change. Dressed him in the new pair of soft pants which I bot from Perth and a Tigger reddish polo tee as today is mid autumn festival. Had removed Polar mini snowskin mooncakes from the fridge. Cut one of each of the Rose and Osmanthus mini mooncakes and gently placed them in his snack box.

He forgot to bring his buddy, Mickey back home from ah ma's place last night. Fed him his Chinese medicine for his sensitive nose and we left for school. We were still a bit late, reaching around 8.40pm. Other students were also slowly removing their shoes. Lu Lao Shi opened the door for us. She complimented about the Chinese silky cheongsam top which I was wearing. Thot of dressing that to mark the occasion.

Bot a mini snowskin mooncake to give J, my colleague.  She thot I or my sis made it.  Told her bot it off the rack from Polar.

Sent many fwded mid-autumn festival smses to my friends where several of them reverted with same greetings.  It's this kind of occasion where we sincerely exchanged our blessings.  One of my ex-coll, P, whom i had lost touch for quite a while updated me on ex-colls still working @ MOH.  Was surprised to hear that LTZ's wife expecting a 3rd child which is due next month.  P juz returned from Perth too for business trip.  Told him my nightmare over there.

Neway, it was v nice of him to provide me an update.  Later in the pm, LTZ smsed me with greetings and he told me his 3rd child is also a boy.  He already had 2 boys.  They wanted a girl.....tat's Y they tried.  Nevertheless, i guessed the vital thing is to have a healthy baby irregardless of the sex of the baby.  I also havent met him for donkey years.  He said he will buzz me to arrange for a meal.

Had lunch with HL, my ex-coll together with my coll, J @ Amoy today.  Wanted to makan nasi lemak but it was closed till 29 Sep 2010.  Hence, opted for the stall next to it, the lor mee.  Oh man, very long queue too.  I din give up.  Finally got my 2 bowls, one without chilli for HL.  J was already halfway through her lunch.  HL joined us shortly.  She was caught up with her sup.  J treated us to kopi and kaya toast after that. Wanted to buy toto @ the 7-eleven but it was long queue so gave up.

My coll, A, suggested lunch together with S.  Hvnt had a chance to lunch with them since both of them joined us 2 and 3 mths ago respectively.  So we fixed tomorrow to have lunch together.  The 3 of us are handling entirely different roles.

After work, i rushed to Far East Square push cart to exchange Jeston's clothes before it close.  He was unable to fit the Thomas set and the shirt was too dull hence i exchanged for both.  Me really shopping queen.  Couldn't resist and bot an additional long sleeve shirt for him cos i find the chinese collar quite unique but my MIL and SIL both commented colour a bit too dull for him.  Looks like i gotta repeat my trip to the push cart again to exchange for the chinese collar shirt.

After the exchange, i took the mrt to rush my way to Hougang where Jeston will be attending his chinese class.  In the mrt, met a pair of very childish young couple where the gal was slapping the guy and the guy playing with her, almost bumping into me and i was standing behind them.  No consideration for others at all......sigh.....

Jeston dislike chinese classes as he insists that I attend it together with him.  However, both his chinese teachers discouraged me from doing so.  Last week, we tried and he cried for the initial moment and calmed down.  Liu Lao Shi was explaining to me that as long as he dun see me, he will join and progress with the class.  When he spotted me looking at him through the mini window on the door, he began to get emotional again.

He was still alright after last week's lesson.  But today, the moment i stepped into the classroom with him, he held onto my left arm tightly.  Both Liu Lao Shi and i were trying to explain to him that parents are not allowed in the class.  He refused to listen and wept bitterly.  As it was Su Lao Shi leading the lesson today, she permissed me to stay behind.  Liu Lao Shi has no choice.  I understand that I should teach Jeston to be more independent but i made the wrong move initially by accompanying for several lessons.

He already got used to it hence difficult to get him to readjust without my presence.  Hubby told me to withdraw him from the class last week which i tried.  The management asked me to try for few more times.  They do not allow refund of school fees.  Only deferment of classes are allowed.  He suggested that I let Jeston rest for a while and return for the classes again.  I find the chinese lessons very interesting and he did learn new chinese characters from the classes.

We juz have to overcome this obstacle of him dropping his probia without mummy's presence.  It's tough but i do hope he will be able to do it soon.  When i witnessed him sobbing so bitterly, my heart hurts too.  I was hesitating of withdrawing him if they do not allow me in the classes.  He was enjoying the lesson.  He just wanted me to be there even as a white elephant.  Hence, i felt reluctant to give up at the moment.

Neway, shall see how things progress.  Hubby already asked me to halt the classes after end December before the new term commence again.  I just hope Jeston can pick up chinese as i understand the primary school chinese is getting tougher.  Wanna spread out his learning curve while he's still have plenty of time than to squeeze everything together when time is scarce.

After the class, we headed to the kopitiam near my place to get dinner.  I was starved by 9pm.  Bot a pack of economical rice and 3 boxes of candles for 1 buck to play with Jeston later.  Hubby went home to pick up the Japanese Yuzu snowskin mooncakes.  My gosh! Din realise we need to put these in the freezer and they melted.  The lady who sold them to me juz advised me to put in the fridge.  I'll never ever get from them in future.  My hubby's cousin's galfren also had bad experience with them.  Their yam snowskin mooncakes turned sour even before they can consume.

Neway, we refroze them and left them @ my MIL's freezer.  Lighted up 2 dozen of candles outside my MIL's place.  Hung one paper lantern with candle and Jeston played with the electric Thomas Train lantern.  We bot him to the void deck for a short while.  When we returned, the candles burnt part of the flower pot where we inserted the candles.  My FIL told us to dispose it.

Jeston stayed with my MIL tonight.  Asked him whether he wanna proceed home.  He was hesitant but eventually decided to stay.  Good for me as i returned home to shampoo my hair and i needed to rush to Toa Payoh Chung Hua Hospital to get queue nos. for my mum, my bro and myself early next morning.  If Jeston is around, he will tend to follow me so hubby gotta send us there and drove us back to his school.

Btw, Jeston made a mooncake in school today.  Supposed to contain a secret message but i havent eaten it.  Will update the message again.

Luckily, I havent eaten the cake.  Blur me thot it's a REAL mooncake.  It was actually made of plasticine.  Only realised that when I tried to break it into half to get the secret message.....haha....

Disappointing Day

This morning, Jeston was very tired and hence I decided to let him sleep a while longer while I prepared my stuff.  We forgot about his snack time for today so gotta head to the bakery before his school to get some bread for him.  Finally I placed the milk bottle on him while he was still in his dreamland for his morning intake while changing his clothes for him at the same time.  Helped him put on his long sleeved tee which I got from Perth with Thomas 3 quarter pants.

Getting ready for school

Going to school with Mickey

Jeston's favourite red bean bread for Snack Time
He dragged his little Mickey from the bed before stepping out of the house.  He had been bringing Mickey as companion to school since he started Term 4 on 15 Sep 2010.  We let him rest @ my MIL’s place for 2 days to recover from his diaper rashes on both Mon & Tues.  The school celebrated Hari Raya Puasa last Thursday where students may dress in their Malay customary apparels.  Jeston dressed as per normal to school as he do not have any Malay costume.  Will try to get one for him next year…haha
His “Show & Tell” session has been bought forward to today from tomorrow due to the Mooncake celebration tomorrow.  The school will usually introduce a new phonics sound every week during the session where parents are encouraged to assist the child to bring something related to the sound.  The sound for this week is "ue" so i packed one bottle of blue glue stick in his bag.  Oopz, need to go and grab some mooncakes for his sharing with 2 other pals for tomorrow.
My colleague, J, gotta rush some work hence she tabaoed for lunch today so i met my ex-colls H & A for lunch.  By the time i reached the place, it was very packed.  Luckily, managed to share seats with another couple who left when we got our food.  The place is famous for bak chor mee.  I ordered mine with chilli and ordered 2 mee kia without chilli for them.  We then proceeded to Ya Kun for kopi session.  Haha....it's a gd "cow pei" session for us to relieve our stress @ work.  We used to work together but we are currently all working for different organisations now.
Another disappointment from TKP today...damn stupid reason...made me v demotivated...sometimes, i wondered Y are people so lucky...those who slogged like hell get "hell"?  Is it really worth it?  Neway, life still needs to go on.  I muz return early to fulfill my 2nd resolution for the remaining quarter of the year.  Hope to be able to tidy up so that I wun have to spend crazy time searching for stuff again...otherwise, hubby will begin his nagging session again.
But do seriously hope hubby will get some determination to exercise and start his regime towards more healthy lifestyle...
GANBATTE!

Left office around 8pm.  Strolled to Raffles MRT to grab any last min Mid-Autumn mooncakes deals.  Managed to get a box of 4 Snowskin Japanese Yuzu, new flavour from Peony Jade for about S$36 after 40% discount.  However, it had to be kept in the fridge witthin next hour.

Buzzed hubby to pick me up at MRT.  Juz remembered Bonito launching at 8pm.  Logged in via ipad @ 8.03pm.  However, stupid paypal din work so din manage to grab the 2 items which I included in my shopping cart.  Persisted and re-entered website again but still failed.  Was so frustrated.  Hubby placed the mooncakes in the fridge while we proceeded to Hougang to get my economical rice for dinner.  He bot cheng teng for me, my MIL, my SIL and himself.  Not sweet but i still fancy those sold @ Commonwealth hawker.

Wow, after a heavy meal including the desert, i got Jeston to try the apparel i bot from him @ Far East Square during lunch today.  However, to my dismay, he can only fit into the jumper.  The thomas set is too small for him and hubby and family find the shirt too dull coloured.  Hence, gotta make a trip back to the push cart to exchange for other items.  It's opened till 6.30pm on weekdays.

Jeston was very excited about the Thomas train lantern daddy bot for him.  It costs S$7 which we got it from Hougang.  It was the last pc left.  Can be converted to a toy which will move on its own if he's tired of the lantern though a bit heavy to carry and the string attached is quite short.

Before heading to my MIL's place for dinner earlier, i made a trip to Compass Point to drop cheque for hubby and got mini snowskin mooncakes from Polar @ 6pcs for S$15.20 @ 20% discount in mixture of rose and sweet osmanthus.  Juz realised from Polar website there's Mickey mouse snowskin.  Guess i already miss it.  Bot the polar snowskin mooncakes for Jeston's school mid autumn festival celebration tomorrow.

Received a parcel today from missy pixie.  Had ordered Tiffy few days ago from Missy Pixie website.  This apparel was on sale hence i paid S$14 including postage.

Tuesday again so received I-weekly in the mail.

Sore eye

Seen the doctor last Friday for my sore eye. It actually began last Wed when I noticed minor redness at the corner of my left eye. Left it alone and it worsened on Fri. Hence, I visited the doc whom I brought Jeston to see on 11th when we returned from Perth on 10th Sep for his diaper rashes.

He was highly recommended by my MIL's neighbour. Heard he was an ex-doc from KK. Neway, Jeston has gradually recovered from his rashes and cough [Dhasedyl/Vasican (60ml)]so his medicine was quite effective and the best thing of all, his consultation and medicine was considered much cheaper compared to other docs in the market.

His clinic is The Olive Tree Family Clinic and Surgery located at Blk 303 Anchorvale Link #01-02 S(540303).  I was told last Friday it was irritation and given one day to rest.  Was prescribed Cetirizine 10mg for consumption evrymorning and Opichlor Eye Drop to apply to affected eye 4 hourly.

However, over the weekend, my left eye was still reddish even after consuming the anti-itchness pill and applying the eye lotion. Wanted to see him again last Sat but din realised he was only opened for half a day in the morning. Hubby went to the clinic on Sat night and checked the opening hours. Supposed to be open on Sun evening from 6.30pm to 9.30pm but when I called at 8 plus, nobody picked up the line hence I decided to wait for one more day, thinking it may subside today.

To my dismay, it remained status quo this morning.  Therefore, after dropping Jeston in School, i waited patiently at the clinic again for my turn (no. 23) when the displayed no. on the TV showed 6....gosh, imagined, i waited for almost 2 hours.  The doc prescribed Prednisolone 5mg which i'm supposed to complete the course and Fucithalmic Eye-drop to apply 3 times daily.  Instructed to apply both eye lotion with with 2 hours interval.  One is drops and Fucithalmic was creamy form.  Was given one day MC to rest.  Met my ex-coll, A, in the clinic who had sore throat.  She was telling me the doctor behind the NTUC @ Fernvale also not bad.

Was taking to my sis via facebook yesterday.  Was amazed by how she allocated her time.  She got so much stuff to handle @ work.  She's a marketing manager and she had piles of work to do as they were quite short handed.  Yet she managed to pick up sewing, photography and baking all on her own.  She juz attended a diploma course to learn to do fondant and already clinched 2 cake orders.  She also managed to squeeze time to update her blog.  Her blog is at Corinne's blog.

Guess i'm poles apart from her.  I'm accountant in the day and mummy at night.  I always feel that 24 hours a day is insufficient for me.  I tried to fulfill so many things at the same time.  I actually started blogging many years back even before the birth of Jeston but i only blogged once in a blue moon as i was heavily tied down by work.  High volumen and low pay.

After Jeston was born, i switched to another company which i thought would be much better as my big boss promised me work life balance.  But things are always not a bed of roses.  I worked till past midnight on the 2nd day.  Thereafter, i befriended the moon as i seldom see the sun when i knocked off.  I'm considered luckier as i had a colleague who worked much much harder than me.  Both of us left eventually as we were exhausted utimately.

Oopz....a bit side track, guess it will be days and nights if i were to carry on elaborating on the past.  Lets look towards the future....my new resolutions for 2010 though only one more quarter to go before the countdown again....

i) Attend a driving refresher course so that I can drive the car during the weekend
ii) Tidy up our nest as it has been adjourned for donkey years
iii) Settle on a new xxx
iv) Either project gxxx or mxxxxx

Creative Cookies Making Class @ Genius R Us on 19 Sep 2010

This morning, Jeston woke up @ 8 plus as usual during the weekends. He drank his milk and wanna poo so given no choice, i gotta pull myself up to put him on the potty. After he was done, I used the wet tissue to clean him and dragged him for shower. He do not like to shampoo his hair cos he dislike the feeling of water dripping down his face. Hence, it was alwis a struggle dragging him for shower during the weekends cos my MIL will handle him during weekdays. I will ask him to tilt his head while I place a hand towel over his face. I bot a goggle for him but he dislike it. Luckily, daddy suggested tilting his head. Otherwise, I gotta carry him to shampoo his hair.

I signed him up for Creative Cookies Making @ Genius R Us @ City Square Mall @ 11am. As daddy wasn't ready, we took the MRT to Farrer Park. It ws straight access from the MRT to City Square Mall. Thus, we reached Genius R Us on the 7th floor around 10 plus. There was a birthday party being held. I approached the receptionist, a lady who was also the instructor and paid $12 for both adult and kid. They had a $8 promotion for each class to celebrate their 8th year old anniversary. $8 was for kid and additional $4 for adult.

There were 3 different sessions for $32 for both adult and kid but i'm worried about Jeston's attention span hence only signed up for one. We waited till 11.15pm before more people began strolling in. There was a lady who signed up with 3 other friends and their kids. They were seated on the same table. We were seated at the other table dressed in aprons. Jeston was dressed in a blue apron with a blue hat while I was in a purple apron. We were given the ready made butter mixture for the cookies. There were 2 instructors, a lady (the receptionist) and a guy. They showed us the rolling pin, the cookies cutter, the decoration colouring bits and another tool for scooping the cookies....oops, nummy is a very forgetful student.

I helped Jeston cut the star cookie and he excitedly furnish it with lotsa decorative colouring bits and chocolate chips. He filled the entire cookie with it. We continued to make the bear which he wanna give daddy, the flower for granny, heart for gugu and bell for grandpa. The lady instructor illustrated on how to make the caterpillar which Jeston kept for himself. After we were done, there they went to the Rowenta oven for baking. Jeston was the 1st to complete as we only managed to carve out 6 cookies from the dough while others made thinner cookies hence some made up to 10 of them. Another lady staff taught Jeston how to make a poodle balloon which he chosen over the sword.

Eventually, the poodle was done by her cos Jeston's too young to do it on his own. The poodle possessed a long, long tail. The rest of them continued to queue for the balloons while we waited patiently for the cookies. They proceeded with another class. I could smell the aroma of the yummy cookies. Was td to pack them in the plastic container as the staff were busy with the next class. We headed to the kopitiam food court for lunch. It was considered quite quiet for a Sun. Daddy bot fish slice mee sua which is Jeston's favourite. He enjoyed it thoroughly while I consumed the Korean set as the stall was juz next to us. But it was not that fantastic afterall though it had the recommendation for Live to Eat. Daddy had the economical rice which cost $4. Food here are quite exp.

After lunch, we carried on to White Sands where Jeston attended his weekly music class. The teacher, Fiona, is very patient with kids. We were originally enrolled in Hougang branch but switched to White Sands from September. The class lasted for 45 mins. We were a bit late so missed the opening hello song. There were 5 of us in the class. It included a short keyboard session after the singing, flashcards and games. But Jeston alwis love to press the other buttons on the keyboard than the keys themselves so had a hard time persuading him to concentrate on the respective keys. I guess it takes more time for him to pick up.

After the class, i rushed to the ATM on the 2nd floor to withdraw money for his Sep & Oct lessons. Both of us were exhausted so headed home for nap before visiting his maternal granny in the evening as what we usually do every Sat.

Buffet at City Square Mall Pu Tien

Woke up around 10am this morning. My MIL called and informed us Jeston's cream for applying on his rashes was missing. I remembered I placed it back in her bag yesterday at James' granny's place. Nevertheless, we made a trip to her place to hunt for the cream but was in vain. So we headed back to the clinic to repurchase the cream. As the nurse was checking with the doc, James rang me and told my my MIL found it while she was sweeping the floor. She must have accidentally dropped it when she reached home last night. Luckily, I have yet to make the payment hence was in time to cancel the order. The nurse juz laughed and I quickly made my way to the entrance.

Reached my MIL's place and waited for my lil' darling to have his shower and subsequently, I applied the rashes cream for him. It was another routine struggle as he wailed in pain. Given no choice. I followed the doc's instruction to apply to all the affected areas. We then proceeded to City Square Mall Pu Tien to try the buffet recommended by Buffetlicious hosted by Michelle and Singapore idol runner-up every tues.

The waitress wanna measure Jeston's height to check whether he eligible to pay for child's price. We explained we brought home cooked food for him as he's not feeling well. She then removed the children cutlery which was initially displayed for him. So stingy... Can't he use the plate if he's not paying? It was a disappointment cos the food was not as fantastic as what we have expected. Only the duck soup and the drunken prawn were not bad. Quite a fair bit of fried stuff. UOB credit card holders are entitled to 15% discount so it was about $78 for the 3 of us including my MIL.
